The increasing relevance of design management, promotion and sale calls for innovative design development. All these require strong understanding of trade management practices and supply chain and understanding of fashion dynamics at global level. The program of fashion design builds up students knowledge base in management techniques, costing and global trade practices.
The students of this program can pursue careers as fashion designer, fashion merchandisers, fashion stylist, design managers with domestic market and export sector.
Year I : The course curriculum in the 1st year covers design and technical skills, fashion attributes, fundamental of supply chain, principles of management and communication skills. At the end of the 1st year the students will undertake industry internship. Year II: Program allows students to develop conceptual thinking, a design methodology, critical analysis, an advanced technical proficiency which runs through the entire course, enhance skills and knowledge of materials and the process of construction, learn how to appreciate design and history of different product range, understanding of social-cultural influence. All is learnt through development of product through projects.
Year II : The student would concentrate on furthering technical knowledge and design skills, expanding research areas, develop creative working on design projects. In the final semester the students would design collections by developing a range and presenting in the form of a graduating fashion show.
